The Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP) is the UK industry and government board to drive the UK’s aerospace strategy. As part of its work to tackle the industry skills shortage at its root and showcase the fantastic and diverse opportunities available in the aerospace sector, the AGP is proud to be lending its support to the Aerospace Industrial Cadets Programme (AICP).

Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP)

The AICP enables companies in the sector to deliver high quality workplace experiences to young people in their recruitment catchment area. This ensures that as many suitable candidates as possible are encouraged to study subjects relevant to aerospace careers, as well as increase awareness and inspire young people into jobs that are available in the industry.

The AICP programme is led by the Industrial Cadets team, part of the Engineering Development Trust, a leading UK charity supporting engineering education through a variety of programmes which provide real-life engineering experiences to young people.

Work experience placements are one of the most effective ways to inspire young people about future career opportunities which are open to them and the AICP programme is open to all employers, whether you already have a work placement offering or not.

The Industrial Cadets team works with employers to help you and ensure you are delivering a quality programme that develops core skills and competencies and accredit this through Industrial Cadets – an industry led, quality national standard for workplace experiences inspired by HRH The Prince of Wales.

No company is too large or too small! Whether your company does or does not offer work placements, if you are interested in additional opportunities to raise awareness and support young people into the industry, please contact the team at industrialcadets@etrust.org.uk
