From Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 June, The Royal Aeronautical Society exhibited at The Big Bang Fair 2023 alongside other industry experts in the aviation and aerospace sector, coming together to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. The Fair is the largest celebration of STEM for young people in the UK, providing young people with the opportunity to meet real engineers and scientists, and get involved in hands-on activities. The Opportunities in Aviation & Aerospace group debuted their collaborative efforts to engage and excite young people with aviation and aerospace STEM careers for the first time!

EngineeringUK, the organiser of The Big Bang Fair, collaborated with several organisations including the Civil Aviation Authority, Aerobility, The Royal Aeronautical Society, British Airways and TUI to deliver an industry-first collaboration of this size and scale, joining forces to highlight the skills and career opportunities available in the aviation and aerospace industry. “Generation Aviation”, the name for the collective, was a massive success, with the collaborative atmosphere allowing all groups to help inspire and build an aviation workforce fit for the future.
