RAeS, No.4 Hamilton Place, London W1J 7BQ

A new Charter to support women’s progression in aerospace and aviation was launched at this year’s Farnborough International Air Show at the successful Ballot Box to Wing Box event which brought together over 150 women of all career stages and diversity champions to discuss why the numbers of women in the industry remain low, particularly in technical roles and the flight deck.

The Charter aims to help employers across the aerospace and aviation sector address this issues and make a genuine commitment  to change and has already seen over 50 signatories since its launch in July 2018.

The Charter was inspired by the Women in Finance Charter and, on Monday 24 September, a seminar will bring together those who have been involved in both programmes at the Society’s headquarters in London for an interactive session to discuss the next steps to achieve the Charter’s goals.

Panellists include:

  • Mary Macleod, Ambassador, London Women’s Forum & Senior Client Partner, Korn Ferry
  • Emily Cox MBE, Director of Public Affairs, Virgin Money
  • Jane Middleton FRAeS, Chairman of Airlines UK

The seminar is free to attend and open to anyone looking to support gender diversity in the industry. Places are limited but available on a first-come, first-served basis.
