On Thursday 13th December, following on from the success of last year, the Royal Aeronautical Society Yeovil Branch will be holding a special Christmas Family Lecture with an aim at getting as many Young People attending as possible. The lecture will be on the subject of “Forming a Festive Forecast: Can we get to Town?” by speakers Claire Bartholomew and Helen Roberts from the Met Office.

In a light-hearted and informative talk, Claire and Helen from the Met Office will take audience members through the exciting and fascinating world of weather prediction. They will explain in simple detail the complex topics of how weather works, how weather forecasts are created, and how you can become a meteorologist at home using everyday items. Most importantly, they will answer the question; can we get Santa to town?!

This interactive talk is the perfect mix of technical and fun; designed to interest & inspire adults and children alike, so please bring the family along! Suitable for ages 7 and up.

Spaces are limited at the venue, so this will be a “ticket only” event. To request your FREE TICKET please email the Branch at: raesyeovil.mbx@agustawestland.com

Because of the popularity of this event, the venue has been changed from its usual lecture location, to Milford Junior School Hall, BA21 4PG. Children will be given priority to sit in the front few rows.

Doors will open at 18:00 with the lecture commencing at 18:30. Refreshments are available at cost, with proceeds going to charity.

If you are intending on attending, please try to bring a Young Person!
