On Tuesday 10 December 2019, the Yeovil Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society will be holding a special free to attend Christmas Family Lecture revealing Santa’s top sleigh design secrets: “Hypersonic Santa: Santa’s Sleigh Technology Revealed” with sleigh technology experts Gerrie Mullen and Patrick Rennie of Reaction Engines along with interactive activities suitable for ages 7 and above.
About the talk
In a light-hearted and informative talk, Gerrie Mullen & Patrick Rennie of Reaction Engines will take audience members through the exciting and fascinating world of faster than sound travel. They will explain in simple detail the complex topics of hypersonics, spaceflight, and how you too can become a rocket scientist at home using everyday items. Most importantly, they will answer the question: how does Santa’s sleigh work?!
This interactive talk is the perfect mix of technical and fun; designed to interest & inspire adults and children alike, so please bring the family along! Suitable for ages 7 and up.

Because of the popularity of this event, the venue has been changed from its usual lecture location, to Milford Junior School Hall, BA21 4PG.
To ensure that all our young attendees have the best viewing experience possible, children will be given priority to sit in the front few rows.
Doors will open at 18:00 with the lecture commencing at 18:30. Refreshments are available at cost, with proceeds going to charity.
