The APA Integrated course takes students with little or no previous flying experience to a Commercial Pilot’s License (CPL) with a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR) referred to as the ‘frozen’ ATPL. The course also includes a Multi Crew Co-operation (MCC) course, which is required to proceed to Type Rating.  Once type training has been completed, pilots can be employed as a First Officer with an airline.

Graduate pilots with a ‘frozen’ ATPL are free to train to any aircraft type and to fly for any airline that will accept their national license. Most airlines will initially assign new First Officers to “short haul” fleets so they can build experience in the more demanding departure and approach phases of flight. Once an ATPL holder has gained 1,500 hours experience, the ATPL becomes ‘unfrozen’ and they are then eligible to be considered for promotion.

Elite Integrated ATPL

Key Characteristics:

- Small Class Sizes
- Premium Training Guarantee
- Airline Focused training from day 1
- Integrated Ground and Flight Training
- Airline Fundamentals Training integrated into the programme taught by highly  experienced pilots
- All Multi Engine Training completed in UK
- Upset Recovery Training taught in aircraft and Jet Simulators
- Competency Based MCC & JOC Training delivered on A320 & B737 Simulators

Airline Pilot Academy has training facilities located in Bournemouth, Utrecht (Netherlands) and Melbourne (Florida).

In order to become an airline pilot, you must obtain the highest level of aircraft pilot certification: an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL). It includes ATPL theory (14 EASA subjects), a Commercial Pilot’s Licence and Instrument Rating (CPL/IR) and a Multi-Crew Cooperation Course (MCC).

This licence allows you to work as a First Officer with an airline once you have completed a specific aircraft type training course, and in time become a captain.

In order to obtain the ATPL, you can follow either the integrated or modular training route.

Integrated Training:

Integrated training takes cadets with little or no flying experience up to successful completion of the course, at which point the cadet will be issued with an EASA frozen ATPL. FTEJerez’s Airline First Officer Programme (AFOP) falls under this category, which is highly valued by airlines.

Modular Training:

Modular training, on the other hand, is designed for students who wish to train at their own pace, whilst combining their training with a job or studies in a flexible manner. FTEJerez offers candidates who have decided to follow this training route the possibility of enrolling on one of our Combined CPL/IR courses. They can also complete their training with the ATPL’s final module, the MCC or JOC.

Flying Time Aviation

We are FTA, a world-class commercial flight academy based in Brighton, UK. We help our students develop the skills, experience and confidence they need to achieve their dreams of becoming airline pilots.

Flying Time Aviation

Website: http://www.fta-global.com/
Tel: (0) 1273 455177
Address: Wingfield House, Brighton City Airport, West Sussex, BN43 5FF
Email: admin@fta-global.com

FTA is currently one of the only UK flight training academies to teach all of its Integrated flight training entirely in the UK. Based at Brighton City Airport, the home of the UK’s oldest licensed airport founded in 1910, and the site of the first commercial flight in Britain.

Today, over a century later, students from across the globe come to the South Coast of England to train as commercial pilots. They learn to fly our state-of-the-art fleet of DA40 Star and DA42 Twin Star aircraft, which feature the same systems found in modern airliner flight decks, including EFIS, ADC, FADEC and GNSS instruments.

Integrated Training:

FTA have a selection of training programmes to suit every individual. Our most popular course takes students with little or no flying experience to a “Frozen ATPL” in 14-16 months. This enables you to apply for a First Officer role at any commercial airline.

Once you gain 1,500 hours’ experience, your ATPL becomes ‘unfrozen’ and you are eligible to be promoted to Captain by your employer airline. This full-time, integrated course is the preferred training route for most airlines.

FTA runs the Flight Deck Programme continuously throughout the year.

Modular Training:

An alternative to FTA’s Integrated Flight Deck Programme is to take a modular course.

If you’re looking for a career as a commercial airline pilot, this approach still allows you to go from Zero to Frozen ATPL, but enables you to set the pace. This is a popular choice for students who want to alternate between training and part- or full-time employment.

You can also simply take individual courses, such as the Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL), subject to meeting the course pre-requisites.

Air travel is the most rapidly expanding form of public transport at this time with passenger levels predicted to increase significantly over the next few years. This means that the likely demand for aircrew will grow during this period. Consequently the potential demand for new pilots qualified to enter airline service is also high.

To take advantage of this you will need to have what is known in the industry as an Airline Transport Pilots Licence (ATPL). To obtain a ATPL the student must have passed all of the theoretical knowledge examinations and obtained a Commercial Pilot Licence and Instrument Rating (CPL/IR). Westbeach Flight Academy is fully equipped and staffed to provide all your flying training requirements to achieve this vital qualification.
