With a pedigree dating back to 1939 OAA is one of the world’s leading independent providers of airline pilot training. To date over 26,000 pilots have graduated from Oxford and have served, or are currently serving, in airlines and military organisations worldwide. OAA was awarded the Queen’s Award for Excellence as long ago as 1972 and members of the Royal Family have trained here. Many major UK airlines are long standing customers of OAA with the more recently established low-cost operators, such as easyJet and Ryanair, both now employing substantial numbers of OAA graduates. OAA owns and operates three ab initio training centres located at Oxford Airport, UK, Goodyear Airport, Arizona in the USA and Moorabbin Airport, Melbourne, Australia.

OAA ‘s aim is to ensure that we take into training only high calibre students equipped with the necessary skills and aptitude needed to succeed in the airline industry, to develop their skills during training, and to assist them both before and after graduation in gaining a First Officer position. Operating as part of the crew of a modern airline, it is now widely recognised that it requires considerable commitment from the trainee pilot, the flight training organisation and the employer airlines acting in partnership to prepare an individual to achieve the required standard. The ethos of the APP FIRST OFFICER™ course is to go well beyond the minimum training needed to obtain a professional licence. OAA offers a dedicated and focused career service to our APP FIRST OFFICER™ graduates.
