Futures Day at Farnborough International Airshow 2010, Friday 23 July 2010 – Get Your Students Involved
Farnborough International Airshow 2010 is delighted to announce the launch of a new exciting programme for young people. The programme, called Inspiring Young Minds towards a Career in Aerospace & Defence, is aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 17 and will be launched at Futures Day at the Farnborough International Airshow on 23 July 2010. Its aim is to get children to be part of the solution to global challenges such as climate change.
Futures Day aims to stimulate interest through various activities including lectures, various demonstrations including the Tri-Nation Final of the Rocketry Challenge (UK, USA & France), hands-on activities, a treasure hunt, and a careers fair with opportunities to meet both key people from the sector and young people already embarking on careers in the sector. The programme will be the start of something exciting for young people to become more involved in STEM subjects and potentially follow a career in this successful sector.
