Once a civil aircraft enters service, a whole new area of aviation careers become available:
- Airports - from small regional airports, to large 'hubs' such as London Heathrow and host to a number of other business and organisations
- Airlines - from low-cost, short-haul only to major national airlines flying around the world with roles on the ground and air and in the airlines' central offices
- Air Traffic Control - based in an airport control tower, or at at the national centre in Swanwick, or even working for the RAF
- Cabin Crew - responsible for passenger comfort and needs, and most importantly for their safety
In this section, we will introduce you to just some of the work involved and entry routes - many of which you do not need to study at university and be fully trained by the employer for.
